What was your first childhood pet?
What kind of pet did you wish you had as a kid?

We had a tri-color collie named Sheba. Awesome dog. I don’t remember having any great wants for pets as a kid. We were a dog family. I think I might have wanted a cat at some point but my mom made it pretty clear that we were NOT a cat family. (now she is a MAJOR cat lover, LOL)

We have always had cats, but they were my moms. When I was about 7-8 my mom let me get a teddy bear hamster. His name was Baby and he lived over 5yrs.
But I always wanted a dog, and I have yet to have one.

We had a Corgi called Mandy. I don’t really remember her that much.
I always wanted a horse but never came close to owning one until I was 19 and lived on a farm with my mum for a little while and her boyfriend had a beautiful horse.

Well I had a dog and a cat when I was itty bitty, but I don’t remember them. So the first pet I really remember was my dog Heidi. We got her when I was 5, and I named her after my favorite book at the time.
She was a black Lab, and she was so sweet. For whatever reason the people who had her cut off her tail, but it made her unique, she would always shake her little nub.
The first pet i remember is a dog named Rax. which was my dad’s dog. My first pet for me to take care of was my goldfish named Bucket.

My Dad raised red ticks, a kind of coonhound, and we got to raise tons of puppies. We didn’t have any inside dogs until I was in 5th grade and we got a rat terrier named Spike. I named him that because I thought a big name would make him feel big.
He was a mean bugger. He killed so many rabbits and moles it was ridiculous. He used to bring me their dead bodies and leave them in front of my bedroom door. Ugh. He was fiercely protective of me, though, because I fed and watered him.
My brother and sister were scared of him. Probably because of the dead animal love offerings and all. LOL He kept biting one of our neighbors on the ankle, so we had to get rid of him after a few years.
He was literally an anklebiter.

I love floppy eared dogs so I had to look up red ticks. Now, I am in love with a puppy. Ahhhh…. Thanks, Kristy!

I had a very disappointing Goldfish. I literally pleaded with my parents for a dog everyday of my childhood until we finally moved into our own home and I got one . Buddy (original I know) who was the best dog that ever lived. I spent some of the best hours of my childhood chasing him around the yard until we both hit the ground.
